Please Pass The...

Applesauce! Taylor, I believe you had a good recipe. Whoever made the bottle you gave us for our baby shower, can you share your secret? :)

I don't have a specific recipe for applesauce; I usually just use a combination of apples to get the taste I want. Jonathan apples work really well, or Jonagold. This year I was given lots of Red Delicious, a few Golden Delicious and not so many Jonathans and the applesauce just isn't as good as last year.

I would say just experiment to find the right combination you like!

If you're making a lot you might want to look into getting a strainer. That way you don't have to peel or core the apples - just steam until tender then run through the strainer. I know Back to Basics sells one and I have an old Victorio strainer.
