Grandma Larson's Meatloaf or Balls

2 lbs. ground beef
1 1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1 tsp ginger
1 onion, chopped
1 egg, beaten
1 1/2 cups bread crumbs, 6 slices
3/4 cup milk

Mix all together. Bake at 350 for 1 hour or until done. For Meatloaf - Place in greased loaf pan and bake, draining grease half way through, and at the end. For meat balls - roll into balls and brown until almost done before baking. Add cream of mushroom soup to make a gravy.
Serves 6-8.

Thank you so much, Kristin, for this recipe! We enjoyed meatloaf the other night and Austin commented that it has really good flavor. I'm happy to have this recipe of Grandma's. She was such a great cook! Thanks again.

I made the meatballs a month or so ago and flash froze them (fully cooked, place in freezer on baking sheet for 30 min., put in freezer bag and freeze). So I pulled about half of them out last night, put them in the crock pot with Grandma's gravy - equal parts cream of mushroom soup and milk. It was so satisfying and it sure reminded me of her, and of my mom. I love meals like that!
